Historically started in the 1980’s as a land mobile two-way radio shop serving local governments and various police agencies in Virginia. In the early 1990’s efforts expanded to full service emergency apparatus outfitting providing lights, sirens, and other public safety vehicle products and services to agencies in Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky and the District of Columbia. In 1999, the Internet website launched and added product lines that included clothing / duty equipment and custom insignia like badges, patches, lapel pins and challenge coins. In 2003 we added our own brand of badges, coins, lapel pins and other insignia that are custom made for only our customers. Recently, we have added the following accomplishments and honors:

Offices and Showrooms are located in various states and the Nations' Capital. All of our regional and local showrooms are open by appointment only. We are registered with Dun & Bradstreet, the U.S. Department of Defense CCR and the Better Business Bureau. We also do business as City Police Equipment Wholesale and citypublicsafety.com online. In addition to City Police Equipment and Public Safety Sales, our family operates a licensed automotive dealership doing business as City Motors Company and an Internet Communications company. There may be other businesses in the ‘City’ family of fine companies and each of our family businesses have individual operating agreements and functions that vary from company to company, yet complement one another.

Operations and day-to-day activities are managed by Mick Lemish as ‘Director of Public Safety’ for the company. In addition to this Internet venture, Mick holds full-time employment in the public safety arena in the National Capitol Region (Washington, DC.) He has experience with multiple U.S. federal law-enforcement agencies, a top secret U.S. DOD agency, a city police dept. in the state of North Carolina, a town police dept. in Virginia, two different state law-enforcement agencies in Virginia, and was last employed in sworn law-enforcement as a deputy sheriff at a county Sheriff's Office in Virginia. Mick is a member in good standing with the Virginia State Police Alumni. As both a volunteer and paid firefighter, Mick served as a Fire Marshal / Deputy Fire Chief and was also a member of the Virginia Fire Chief's Association.

Outside Sales are overseen by Don Lemish as ‘Sales Manager’ and supervisor of our reseller programs. Don is a former law-enforcement officer who has served as a deputy sheriff in Indiana and worked as an executive administrator of large state agencies in Alabama, Indiana, North Carolina and Virginia. Inside Sales and Reseller Sales are handled by a 'Sales Representative', David Powell. David is a retired Virginia State Police Master Trooper and works full-time for a DOD law-enforcement agency in Washington DC. David has been affiliated with our company since 2005 and handles all inbound sales inquiries originiating from e-mail and the Internet. In addition to our website, City Police Equipment and Public Safety Sales uses its commissioned agent representatives to call on local public safety departments and agencies nationwide. Combined, our leadership and sales agents have over 100 years of experience as law-enforcement officers or firefighters and each member of our team uses his or her variety of experience to better provide for the needs of City Police Equipment and Public Safety Sales customers.
